Stressful weeks and long party nights often result in dark circles or under-eye bags. Concealer may be a quick fix. However, it does not address the root causes and if the circles are really dark, it can make you look worse. In some cases, even eye creams do not help. What can you do? I used to have really bad dark circles below my eyes. Check out my list below how I got rid of them! 

1. Most Important: SLEEP!

Yes, again, you have heard about it, I know. However, it is one of the most common reasons for dark circles or bags. Try to get some good rest for about 8 hours every day. You might also want to check out my post about better sleep.

2. Stay Hydrated

Dark circles are often a symptom of dehydration. Make sure you drink enough water during the day and also before you go to sleep.

3. Deal With Stress

Take a step back and try to take a break even during a very stressful week. Already ten minutes of meditation per day can work wonders (not only for your eyes but also for your mind 🙂 ). 4. Natural Emergency Quick Fixes

If it does happen that you have a crazy party night or an extremely busy week and you wake up with your eyes swollen, use one of these natural quick fixes: take two slices of cucumber and put them on your closed eyes for a couple of minutes.  Alternatively, you can also use two thick slices of potato. Another great quick fix is a cotton pad soaked in lemon juice.
